The WTC Responder Fatalities Investigation identified 664 deaths of rescue and recovery workers due to illnesses and diseases between September 12, 2001, and June 30, 2010.1 Although these 664 have not been identified to the public by name, the FeelGood Foundation has identified 114 individuals by name among a larger grouping (813 deaths of rescue and recovery workers during the same time period, from all causes). The 114 represent about 17 percent of the 664, although it isn’t strictly apples-to-apples comparison. Of those 114, photos are publicly available for 30, or about 26%.
To illustrate the role Building-7 debris may have played in these 664 deaths, 10 percent have been randomly selected for display (although Building 7 represented about 15 percent of total WTC structural mass). The 10 percent is applied randomly to the other two numbers as well, to get 11 representing those publicly identified, and 3 with photos.
